Job Description
The job in a nutshell:

As a Learning & Development Advisor you’ll be a key member of the People Team, making sure that all our colleagues have the right knowledge, skills and behaviours to ensure our customers have a great stay and want to return.

You’ll be part of a growing L&D team that are building the capability of our colleagues by identifying, designing and delivering inspirational products that will develop their capability, support their career progression and build further on our reputation of being a ‘great place to work’.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing inspirational learning materials that meet the needs of a wide range of internal customers; Team Members to Managers, Managers and field based colleagues.
  • Delivering learning in a range of formats that enthuse and enable delegates to learn and apply new skills and behaviours
  • Undertaking training needs analyses to fully understand what interventions and tools are required, always keeping in mind our vision of ‘building the favourite hotel for value’
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure buy-in to all planned learning and development activity
  • Managing and delivering learning and development projects – the initiatives that deliver continuous improvement and keep us in the position of ‘leading UK value hotelier’
  • Delivering National Training Calendar courses – these are the solutions that help our colleagues to be really effective as they start on their journey in a new role
  • Lead the implementation of national and local training initiatives

What we’ll expect from you:

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a passionate about engaging and developing colleagues to deliver results. Building relationships with stakeholders will come naturally, as will working at pace and being inspiring in your delivery. You will be customer focused, dedicated, organised and have good attention to detail whilst also wanting to be part of a great team that has fun!

What would set you apart:

  • Demonstrating experience in a learning and development role doing both design and delivery for a range of behavioural interventions
  • Experience of designing training materials
  • Experience of designing customer service materials
  • Experience of working in the areas of employee engagement and performance management
  • Experience of working through the whole training cycle and delivering projects at all stages of the cycle
  • Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity when needed
  • Great attention to detail
  • Initiative and personal drive to manage and deliver own workload without frequent supervision
  • Customer focused and ability to motivate and influence others
  • Desire to challenge and build on existing practices, to positively impact the business and support the overall business strategy
